Steven Brian Kendrick was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia and was educated in the Richmond County Public School System. He attended Florida A & M University (FAMU) and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Business Administration from FAMU’s School of Business and Industry (SBI), which is where he also obtained his MBA in 1991. He served as a business school professor at Augusta University, Paine College and the University of Phoenix, as a salesperson in the pharmaceutical industry and as an officer in a family business, Augusta Blueprint. Mr. Kendrick is a licensed REALTOR, and a licensed real estate instructor.

On January 2, 2009, Steven was sworn in as Tax Commissioner in Augusta-Richmond County. He has a keen interest in economic and community development as indicated by his involvement as Chairman of the Augusta Economic Development Authority and his membership on the Augusta Land Bank Authority. He provides visioning and strategic planning for these two vital organizations as they concentrate on recruiting and collaborating with businesses and organizations who want to locate, expand and redevelop in our local community.

Steven is an early riser who likes to read national newspapers and business periodicals. His other interests include watching political talk shows, digital photography, and technological gadgetry including his beloved iPhone and iPad. He is a proud member of the Psi Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and of the Alpha Mu Boule of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity. He and his staff volunteer and support many organizations and events including the Grandparents Program at Augusta University, Arts in the Heart of Augusta, and their very own, TCO Christmas Blessings, where they have given away over $30,000 in holiday gifts to families in need. In 2015 the office raised over $5000 in an event for the Child Enrichment, the YMCA Wilson Branch, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Augusta.

Steven is a 2006 graduate of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, a 2003 graduate of Leadership Augusta, and he served as a statewide host for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Red Carpet Tour. His spiritual foundation was built at Williams Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and he currently attends Beulah Grove Baptist church for worship. He owes any current or past success he has had in his life to his wife, Pamela, wise and caring parents James and Mildred Kendrick and a supportive community. He and Pamela have six children they adore.
